“Friends from a Distance”

 HEY, Bc ...

Are You AudioSexual ?:

Are you a musician, unable to control creative musical impulses? You may be "AudioSexual". AudioSexuals desire a creative musical experience sequestered in an intimate space, nurturing lyric, tune and performance, to the detriment of, well, almost everything! AudioSexuality can be unhealthy, disturbing, hard on relationships, the ego, and the soul. It can also be passionate, fulfilling, therapeutic, and rewarding (hardly ever financially). It is addictive. Self-destructive.

Often closeted, the AudioSexual can become introverted and alone, working their craft for a worthy offering to the fans. Sometimes fearing rejection & ridicule, they find it more comfortable to solo digitally or acoustically. The most satisfying AudioSex-ing , is to come together with others equally crazed, cultivating lyric and tune, honing and maturing them into pieces of AudioArt, enhanced by the intoxication of their own spirit & soul robbing AudioSexual tendencies.

I bought a guitar from a friend when I was Fourteen and learned by playing to the then new Rolling Stones "Exile On Main Street" LP, with a song book. Also influenced by live bands while working as a Dishwasher behind the bar in a club in Williams Lake B.C. --summer of "72. Later I worked for Taylor Records / Circle of Sound Records & Tapes in Toronto, Canada - a promoter and distributer, and became immersed in the industry.

Alas, my AudioSexual friends, we cloister together once more; self-soothing has been's, wanna-be's, and never were's or will be's;

"Hello, my name is Brian - I am AudioSexual"......

These are my audiosexual FRIENDS FROM a DISTANCE

What was the first concert you ever went to?

I believe the first real concert I went to was George Harrison, followed closely by Rolling Stones "It's Only Rockn' Roll Tour"

What gear do you use?

Gibson J45, Guild 12 String, Lee Oskar Harmonicas. I picked up the J45 Gibson in a Long & McQuade Music store -I walked through the door to purchase strings and it was one of those “AAAAHHHH” moments-it was love at first touch! Recently I bought a Breedlove 12 String...Surprisingly nice feel

If you could jam with anyone, who would it be?

Roger Waters - (though I do not share his political views), borrowing his production techniques. I think he knows how to present the drama in lyric & tune.

Friends from a Distance  --  A Diamond In The Rough

Canada's contributions to Country Rock,Folk Rock, Americanadiana, are many. Legendary acts such as The Band, Neil Young, Bruce Cockburn and Blue Rodeo, to name but a few have made significant recordings throughout the years in this genre.
Across North America, the influence of these acts is undeniable in many of today's indie artists. One such ensemble from Ontario, Canada is Singer/Songwriter Brian Carlo,(BC),along with collaborator, Producer and Musician Tim Alberts, who present some interesting, well crafted songs available on full length CD, and digital Download. The songlist spans a number of styles and the musicianship provided by Alberts, Carlo, and a band of very skilled players (which includes Steel Guitar Player Steve Smith, who has backed such legends as Merle Haggard & Tommy Hunter), is creative and inspired. The songs emotional and honest, reminiscent of a T Bone Burnett production.

If you desire a moment for personal reflection, take their tunes with you on a leisurely drive, or lazy day around the house.
